AFIT is a tool to help you learn about nutrition and physical activity as you track your progress each day. The main components are based on a motivational strategy for engagement in a healthy lifestyle!
Anyone can use the AFIT app to monitor health information. You may earn points and stars as you enter what you have eaten and what physical activities you have accomplished.
Teachers and students can get an overview of their progress through health and physical activity logs.
How App is used in classroom/gym:
Students can use the AFIT app to track their nutrition and physical activity on a Mobile format. The app has a log that will record all the student's self-reported information for both nutrition and physical activity and is based on a motivational strategy.
Teachers can use the AFIT app or the companion app (AFITpro) to teach about the new nutrition plate and the balance of physical activity that is needed on a daily basis.
The full details and videos about how to use the AFIT apps are located at: www.afitmodel.com
There is also a book (AFIT Book 1) with detailed lesson plans available on the iPad in the iBook store. This book provides traditional and technological lesson plans for using the AFIT app in and out of the classroom. Great free resource!
