Partner Hand Dribbling Assessment

Purpose of Activity:

The purpose of the assessment is to develop a better understanding of the critical elements of hand dribbling, and to learn to observe a partner based on the critical elements.


Students should have had practice working together and plenty of instruction and practice with the hand dribble in basketball.

Suggested Grade Level:


Materials Needed:

A partner, ball to dribble, and the assessment sheet located below.

Description of Idea

Use the following sheet with students to see how they are doing with the cues for dribbling a ball with their hands. One student will watch the other and use the sheet to check off how they are doing. You can do this during the class being taught on dribbling or at any time at the end of a class.
