Name of Activity:

Role Playing Throwing and Catching

Purpose of Activity:

To determine if students are able to describe critical elements of throwing and catching in a variety of situations.

Suggested Grade Level:

3-5

Materials Needed:

Role playing scenario cards and assessment forms which are provided below.

Time Needed to Complete:

30 minutes.

Description of Idea

Students are divided into groups of 4-5 and given a role playing scenario card (see samples by clicking on the sheet below). Students will be given 8-10 minutes to come up with a skit which demonstrates their understanding of the skill. Critical elements talked about in class need to be included and all group members need to be active participants in the skit. Skits will be presented to the class and scored by the teacher the rubric.
