Description of Idea

This assessment is designed to have the students think of man-defense in basketball in a realistic way. Kids do play basketball at playgrounds, parks, rec. centers, etc. Many times, if there are lots of kids and only one court, the winning team stays on the court. For this reason, kids really want to play well and win. If they play man-defense properly, their chance of winning is greater.

Scoring Rubric:

0 = Student did not know what advice he/she should give his/her friends and did not know how to diagram the proper positioning.

1 = Student had a limited understanding of the advice he/she should give his/her friends and how to diagram the proper positioning.

2 = Student had sufficient understanding of the advice he/she should give his/her friends and how to diagram the proper positioning.

3 = Student had superior understanding of the advice he/she should give his/her friends and how to diagram the proper positioning.
