Shapes of the Day

Prerequisites:

General and Personal Space, working in small groups

Suggested Grade Level:

K - 2

Materials Needed:

Posters, pictures, or objects of the shapes students will be creating.

Description of Idea

Students will be in groups of fours. The teacher will call out a shape (circle, triangle, square, rectangle etc.). Students will work together to create the shape in their group with their bodies having all children participate.

Variations:

Letters and numbers could be used as well.

Adaptations for Students with Disabilities

Be sure special need student is included in a group.
