Title of Bulletin Board: Free Fitness Apps!

Category: Technology

Suggested Grade Level: 6 -12

Materials: black poster board to make the iPhone, printed out pictures from the internet for the apps, background paper, and cut out letters

Description:

This bulletin board was made to show students how they can use their smart phones or tablets to “buy” free apps that can teach them about fitness and nutrition. I looked for free apps that high school students would most likely use: Fast Food Calorie Counter, Daily Workouts, Simply Yoga, Calorie Counter and Diet Tracker, JEFIT, Pedometer, Instant Heart Rate, Nutrition Tips, and 1,000+ Health Tips. The bulletin board reads “Staying Healthy Doesn’t Cost A Dime!” and “Free Apps!” Also included on the board are pictures with a brief description of the features for each app.

Hopefully students will see this and explore more ways for them to stay connected to fitness and nutrition outside of their health and physical education classes.
