I had divided my second graders into two teams. I decided that I would let them wear the blue and yellow "pinnies" so that it might help them to remember what team they were on. I handed each child one as they lined up at the door to go outside and told them to put them on. I thought I had been explicit in my instructions until I saw a student with the pinnie on his bottom half like they were shorts. I asked him why he had the "pinnie" on like that and he replied, "You said they were Panties!"
