We were beginning striking with paddles in the Kindergarten classes. The classes were receiving instruction on how to keep the wrist stiff when contacting the piece of equipment being struck. The classroom teacher came to pick them up and one student proceeded to exclaim, with much excitement, "I had fun playing with those "skillets!" I guess the association came from the use of "flipping pancakes" while we were tossing and catching bean bags with a stiff wrist.
