While teaching my Kindergarteners their first lesson in single rope jumping, one of my five-year old girls, Lyndi, was loudly complaining that she had never jumped rope and didn't know how. The other children were practicing the tasks and activities that I was demonstrating while Lyndi stood and held her rope. I kept giving cues and suggestions when all of a sudden Lyndi yelled out at the top of her voice, "Hey, Gym Girl, I can do it! Look at me, Gym Girl!"

What a shocker, this is my twenty-fifth teaching year.
