PE Central Kids Quote of the Week
For week beginning Monday, April 24, 2006
I teach PE and if the classes get too noisy or can't settle down I have a rule that they owe me minutes of quiet before we start. Once we start the "quiet minutes" if someone continues to talk we add a minute. This usually gets the class quiet very quickly! During a third grade class I told the students that they needed to quiet down or they would own me minutes. A new student to our school questioned me in a very upset tone. "You mean we have to pay for your minutes if we waste time?" I briefly reminded him of our minute rule. He then went on the say "thank godness" because I thought you were going to make us pay your cell phone bill. My mom always tells us that if we use her phone that we will have to pay for the minutes."
