After explaining to our 6th grade classes we would be running a timed mile, one slightly overweight, very concerned girl pulled me aside to ask about her grade. She explained that she didn't think she could run very fast and every one in the class would be faster. I explained that she was only racing the clock and not the other students, to which she responded, "Well, how fast is the clock going?"
