I have been trying to change the view and name of Physical Education throughout my school by trying to eliminate the use of the term GYM class and gym teacher. I then had the following experience: A little second grade girl recieved a turtle as a gift, I asked, "What are you going to name it?" she said, "Jim". She turned red immediately, apologized, and said "I guess I should call him P.E."
