Every week I post a "Word of the Week" on the bulletin board. During the month of October the words are names of bones. One week the word was PHALANGES. I asked one of my fourth grade classes what the word of the week was. A girl raised her hand and answered, "The word is flatulence. It's when...well...it's when you fart!" I asked her to take a second look at how to pronounce the word I had posted on the bulletin board.
