While teaching bones to first grade students, we reviewed some bones learned in previous weeks before going on to a new "Bone of the Week". When I got to the forearm bones I asked who knew the names of the two forearm bones. When no one could answer Radius and Ulna, I tried giving the kids some leading hints. When I referred to the Ulna, I gave the clue, "It starts with a U..." One little boy raised his hand and answered, "I know the bone that starts with U..UTERUS!!" He shouted. It was all I could do to stifle my laughter and give him the "Good guess, but not quite right" answer.
