During the change of classes my wife, who also teaches elementary P.E., makes notes regarding the class she has just finished. One day as she was making her notes while the kindergarten class she was to have next started to file in. Wanting to give them instructions before they entered the gym she raised her hand to stop them and said, "Just a second." and went back to her notes. When she finished writing, she said, "OK." at which point a little boy in the line piped up and said, "Seventeen." "What?" my wife said a little puzzled. "Seventeen seconds" replied the kindergartener.
