Name of Activity:

Ghostbuster Tag

Prerequisites:

Moving safely in open spaces.

Suggested Grade Level:

2-5

Materials Needed:

Foam Balls for Tagging. Music "Ghostbusters" theme.

Description of Idea

Select two or three taggers to be the "Ghostbusters" (e.g. taggers). When the music starts students walk/skip/gallop, etc. while taggers try and tag them softly on the back or shoulder. If tagged students must go outside the boundary lines in the "Ghost Chamber" until the music says "Ghostbusters". When the music says "Ghostbusters" all of the ghosts are free and must be tagged again before going into the chamber. Change taggers and play again.

Variations:

You can have students do some type of physical activities after being tagged as they wait to hear the word "ghostbusters" in the song.
