Purpose of Activity:

The purpose of this evaluation tool is to examine whether games or activities are appropriate for learners and adhere to the NASPE Appropriate Practices Guidelines.

Description of Idea

The teacher assessment tool is recommended to be used by teachers to rate games and activities on a 4-point scale with respect to how appropriate they are for learners. In addition, the criteria being assessed follow recommendations set forth by the NASPE Appropriate Practices Guidelines. Specifically, the criteria assessed include components such as maximal practice opportunities, safety, skill development,high rates of success, student choice, enjoyment, and a high quality of appropriate practice.

I take attendance because of safety. Lock down drills fire drills. I need to know who is here and who is missing. Taking attendance also helps me learn names. Taking attendance should NOT be in the P.E. Hall of Shame!
