PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Gifts of Good Health

Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials: Cut out letters, several gift boxes, "wrapping paper" made on your computer, ribbons

Give gifts of good health this season! This bulletin board sends a healthy message with each gift. I made "wrapping paper" by typing a healthy message over and over again in a clip art program. You can do the same using Word Art in a Word document. I printed several sheets of each message and taped the sheets together to make a piece of "wrapping paper" large enough to cover a gift box.

My messages said, "Go outside and play!" "Get active with your family," "Be germ free. Wash your hands," "Fasten your seat belt," and "Eat healthy foods." I wrapped the top of a gift box, covered the seams with nice ribbon, put on an eye-catching bow. To mount the 3-D gift boxes to the bulletin board, I stapled the bottom of the box to the board then put the pre-decorated top onto the bottom. I secured the boxes with scotch tape. Ta da! Beautiful, 3-D gifts with healthy messages! You can create your own wrapping paper with your personalized messages. Have a healthy holiday, everyone!
