PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Game Exchange

Category: Physical Education

Suggested Grade Level: 4-9

Materials: Cut out letters, 2 folders, cut out sports balls

The Game Exchange is a bulletin board set up outside of the gym. Students are invited to create their own PE game. There are handouts for them to fill out. The information asked for is: their name, name of the game, a drawn picture of the game, equipment needed, and rules. Students fill out the form and then submit it to me by placing it in the folder on the right side of the bulletin board. I tell the students that any game that they have not played in PE,such as a game they learned at camp or at a sports practice is eligible to be submitted.

The games are reviewed and integrated into my PE program as seen fit to my curriculum. Some games are altered a little to maximize participation, however, you would be surprised of all the fun games that have been created by students and incorporated into my PE program.
