PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Flag Football

Category: Sports

Suggested Grade Level: 9-12

Materials: Bulletin board paper (black), Sports border, Letter cutouts, cutout footballs, and paper

The flag football bulletin board lists the history of the sport, offense and defense terminology, as well as the different player roles the students play when participating in the unit. Under the history portion, I listed when the sport was created, the first championship, and any other fun facts I could find out about flag football. Under the offense section, I listed the different player roles and an explanation of them. I did this also under defense. I drew the Heisman trophy and placed a picture of one of my staff members in the face part. I built this bulletin board so the students would have additional information regarding the flag football unit. The purpose behind the bulletin board is to better inform students with terminology and history behind the flag football unit. In addition, having one of the staff members in the bulletin board gets the students excited about participating in the unit.
