PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Play 60

Category: Physical Activities

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: pictures of active kids or the free wellness kit from

The purpose of this board is to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day, the recommended amount. The Dairy Council has a free wellness kit that you can send for ( In that kit comes banners and pictures (which I used on my bulletin board), and a CD full of materials. I took their theme of "Play 60" and their pictures and hung them to the bulletin board. I added a few papers with info on why you should play 60 minutes a day and the important things being active can do for you, such as healthier heart. If you do not want to send off for the wellness kit, you can always put your own pictures of kids being active. "Play 60" is easy for the kids to remember, so it is a good theme for any bulletin board.
