PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Winners Never Quit

Category: Sportsmanship

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Yellow backing paper, soccer ball templates, crayons or markers, the Book "Winners Never Quit" By ; Mia Hamm

The bulletin board "Winner's Never Quit" was created to encourage students never to give up on a task. I read to the class Mia Hamm's childrens book "Winner's Never Quit". The book was a soccer based book, that expressed many valuable lessons and pictures to engage students. To help children feel connected to the book and to express their own unique individual self, I had each student decorate their very own soccer ball. The book lead to group discussions and teachable moments.

Additional Information:

Ms. Giaimo thanks Ms. Steincke's first grade class for creating such wonderful and colorful soccer balls to be hung on display!
