PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Keep Your Holidays in Balance

Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter

Suggested Grade Level: 4-6

Materials: Construction paper, Pre-made snowman, Pictures of students in simple pyramids

In this months balancing unit we included some simple pyramids to demonstrate student knowledge of balancing. I took digital photos of students showing off their pyramids (low and close to the ground and safe). I printed them on plain paper and placed them around the perimeter of the bulletin board. To continue with the balancing theme there is a scale in the center that is "balancing" packages with health behaviors written on them. On one side, packages say: Plenty of Rest, Eat Healthy foods, Lots of Exercise!. On the other side it says: Television, Video Games, Sweets and Snacks. There is also a snowman that looks like he might be balancing on one foot. This bulletin board is designed to not only showcase student work, but to remind them to do all things in balance for a healthy life.
