Title of Bulletin Board: Fishbowl Behavior Incentive

Category: Behavior Incentives

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: Construction Paper, Tape, Sissors, Chalk and Glue

The Fish Bowl is an incentive for the children to do their work correctly the first time and model good behavior in the classroom. The students absolutely love this visual. If they have a perfect score on a worksheet they earn a “Fish” that they can add to a large “Fish Bowl”. We also give fish rewards for exceptional behavior. When the Fishbowl is completely filled with fish, the student will have a classroom celebration. This is a particularly effective in our classroom of both higher and lower functioning students, as it gives everyone the opportunity to contribute according to their individual ability. It is amazing how hard the students try to earn their “Fish”.
