PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Outstanding Olympians

Category: Olympics

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Boarder, Olympic United States of America Flag, Pictures, Olympic Rings cut out, poster with a United States Medal count

With the advent of the Olympics and the fact that our school had former graduate participating, I thought it would be great to have an Olympic bulletin board. Actually, there have been 3 past graduates who have been in the Olympics (one gold medalist and one bronz medalist so far), so I used this as a motivational factor for the students that are currently in our school. In class we have discussed various aspects of the Olympics from History, what the rings stand for, why the different colors, whose flag is what color, the Olympic Motto, and who won what event. It has been a great source of conversation, home work and information for the students in my class. It is amazing who will do the homework question and bring in the answers. What a great Motivation tool!
