Title of Bulletin Board: Beware of Scary Amounts of Sugar

Category: Holiday-Halloween

Suggested Grade Level: 3-8

Materials: Lettering, butcher paper, construction paper, empty soda/drink bottles, sandwich bags, sugar, rubber bands or packing tape

The purpose of this board is for students to gain an understanding of how much sugar is in their drinks, especially soda. My hope is that when my students see a visual of how much sugar is in one bottle of a drink they will have a better perspective about drinks and their negative health value.

You could use any Halloween pictures to go with this board, I chose pumpkins because they were quick and easy to create. I attached the bottles to the board by stapling rubber bands to the board and then slipping the bottle into the band. I have a band at the top and the bottom of the bottle. You can also use clear packing tape to attach the bottle to the board.

On the side of the board I put a bag that had 12 grams of sugar and a sign that says that students should only have 12 grams of sugar a day.
