PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Hockey

Category: Sports

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Cardboard, tape, colored printer

This hockey board was built to explain the positions, rules, and strategies of a hockey game.

A hockey rink poster was created to give a visual for the students to refer to a real rink. The Boston Bruins players were chosen to put in their positions. (other PE teachers can choose the state of their team) The PE teacher used a small puck to demonstrate to the students the red and blue line, icing, off-sides, the player's position responsibilities, etc.

The border of the hockey board was surrounded by Boston Bruins players.
In addition, there was information explaining the hockey positions and other hockey information.

The JumboTron was made out of a cardboard box and black tape. Pictures were printed out looking like a real Jumbotron. The Jumbotron was attached to the wall by command strip hooks.
