PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Gym Class Heroes

Category: Jump Rope for Heart

Suggested Grade Level: k-5

Materials: Letters, paper, boarder, cut outs to write names on

Students in grades 3-5 were challenged to see how many times they could jump rope consecutively. Any students who jumped 100 times in a row or more had their name put on the board. 100-199 jumps were in the "100 jump club," 200-299 jumps were in the "200 jump club," and 300-399 jumps were in the "300 jump club." Their names were placed on PE themed cut outs.

At the bottom lists health benefits of jump rope.

This board was created to highlight students who worked hard practicing jumping rope during our jump rope unit. It was also created so that students and teachers could see how jumping rope could improve your health.

This activity can be easily modified for the k-2 student by changing/adding "10 Jumps Club", "25 Jumps Club", etc.
