PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Get Pinned to Living a Healthy Active Lifestyle

Category: Beginning of School

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Poster Board, T-Shirt Outline, Clothespins, Markers, Glue, Active Pictures

Each year I create a themed poster for my physical education program at the beginning of the school year. My theme for the 2015-2016 School year was "Get Pinned to Living a Healthy Active Lifestyle."

This theme represented my overall goal for each student involved in my physical education program. Each student was given a clothespin to decorate and design. After completing their design, the students wrote their name on the clothespin and attached it to the shirt poster. The pin served as a pledge to pursue and engage in a healthy active lifestyle. I glued several activities to the shirt of people being active and asked the students what they do to stay healthy and active.

To create the shirt outline I used a T-Shirt template I found online and traced the outline onto the poster board.

Overall this theme served as a reminder to students throughout the year that there are many ways people stay active. Not only through sports, but non-competitive activities as well.
