PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Awareness Wednesday

Category: Health

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Printed health awareness Information and some decorative letters.

This board was created in September and on every Monday of the school year it was updated for the week. It's purpose was to highlight and share different health awareness initiatives taking place in the United States, as well as, making the children aware of the different topics. To keep students engaged and wanting to inquire about each weeks new awareness the PE staff dressed with the appropriate color scheme highlighting the health awareness each Wednesday of the week. So for example, students knew that we were wearing "pink" because it was "breast cancer awareness week", etc...

Children responded well to the information hanging on the board. Every week students always had a story or two to share about family members and friends who may have shared similar passions for a particular cause.
