PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Spring Into Action

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Coffee Filters, Markers, construction paper

I wanted to create a board to celebrate Spring, but also showcase sports that could be played by the students in the spring and also into the summer time. I collaborated with the art teacher who had students use water color markers on coffee filters and then wet the coffee filters to make the markers run to create the "flowers." I found pictures of all different types of balls such as baseballs, beach balls, and soccer balls on a free clip art web site and cut out to fit the inside shapes of the flowers. I chose the spring sport of baseball to showcase and drew a baseball player to put in the corner of the bulletin board. I titled the board "Spring Into Action" to show the students different sports they could be playing during the spring time.
