PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Merry 'Fitmas' and a 'Healthy'

Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: butcher paper, battery operated lights, stockings, cut-out reindeer, die cut ornaments, border, and lettering

This is a fun board that builds students curiosity and excitement as they enter the gym. The students love the 'play on words'. This board will be displayed until they leave for Christmas break. The board gives us an opportunity to discuss focusing on fitness and nutrition even while we are on our break. Santa's reindeer looks like he needs to exercise a little more during 'off season' in order to fly around the world!

The light bulbs can be used to describe how Santa's reindeer can exercise via the FITT Principle and/or meeting the five Components of Health-Related Fitness, and event the six Components of Skill-Related Fitness.
