PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Brain Fun and Games

Category: Brain Research

Suggested Grade Level: K-12

Materials: Poster paper, markers, google eyes, bulletin board boarder, article about the recent brain research

This bulletin board highlights the importance of the mind body connection. An article regarding the neurological connections and justification for consistent, quality Physical Education was placed in a manila envelope attached to the poster. This allows teachers, parents and all stakeholders who are interested in the development of children easy access to the article. This poster is especially powerful when used during special events such as Meet the Teacher Night, Parent Conferences, music concerts, art shows and any other event that draws people from the outside in. A simple drawing of an owl (the FWS mascot) with google eyes purchased at a local arts and craft store, and a hand written rhyme attracts the children to the board. I used a purchased paper basketball from the dollar store to highlight that this was a Physical Education bulletin board.
