PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Being Active Makes Your Brain Bloom

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Construction paper. stapler, clip art picture of brain, pictures of sports equipment, scissors, bulletin board paper, tape

This board was created with the thought that things "bloom" and grow in the spring time.... as does a childs brain "bloom" and grow while being active in physical activities by stimulating new nerve cell growth in the brain to enhance or promote better learning. The brains are "blooming" while the flowers (a representation of children) are participating in physical activities, like basketball, soccer, baseball, etc. This puts a "visual" in a childs mind of ideas of being active (and to "be active") and the correlation of the effect it has on their brain to grow for better learning!
