PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: No Bones About It

Category: Fitness

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Skeleton, Individual bone sheets, Paper to make title

Post a skeleton on the bulletin board. Make a sign saying "No Bones About It, We Love Being Active" and post on the top and bottom of the skeleton on the bulletin board. I used images of a bone font to see how to write the letters out using a bone as lines of the letter.

Copy and Past a picture of a bone into a Publisher file and in a text box within within the bone write "To be active ____________ likes to _________________. Have each student write his/her name in the first blank and an activity in the second blank. Be sure to tell the students the activity has to be active activity. No play video games, watch TV, etc.

Staple the students bone statements around the bulletin board.

The students enjoy seeing their bones posted and also reading other students bones. It is a reminder to them to be active.

Additional Information:

In addition to the above board you can do an adjacent bulletin board about how children need 60 minutes of activity daily.
