PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Do You Know Your Bones?

Category: About the Body

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Skeleton, Food boxes appropriate for calcium, bone label, paper for making pointers, hot glue gun, White trim, different foods high in calcium, different pictures of exercise.

The board was made to show what the different bones in the body are. On one half, the board is of a skeleton. Every couple of days, put up a new pointer. The kids try to guess what the bone is. At the bottom is an envelope that has the answer in it. After a couple of days, tape the answer to the appropriate bone and make another pointer to another bone.

The other side says "What makes a healthy bone". One box says nutrition and the other says exercise. Glue foods that are high in calcium throughout that side with pictures of different kinds of exercise.

Additional Information:

This can be used with bones and also with muscles. Just change the food categories to things high in protein, etc.
