PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Category: Rules

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Any Paper will do for printing, plastic sleeves, clear tape for the wall

The purpose of this bulletin board is to make sure that students always see the rules of physical education. This is not on a bulletin board, but has been put on my equipment closet door because it is one place that the students always visit on a daily basis. It also reminds the students to respect the equipment in the closet. The word spells out RESPECT, with each letter having its own meaning.

R=Right to play (every student has the right to play and have fun),
E=Effort (put in max effort every day in P.E.),
S=safety (safety first always),
P=purpose (come to P.E. with the purpose of learning something new),
E=Enthusiastic (be enthusiastic and excited about the activities you learn in P.E each day), C=Challenge (challenge yourself to be better than you were the day before),
T=Team Building/Trust (work well with others and trust your P.E. teacher to create fun and exciting games).

I will randomly ask classes to tell me what the letters mean. It also looks pretty cool on the door.
