PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: How Did you Get to School? (Walk & Bike Day)

Category: Safety

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: Map, Paper, Pins, Stapler

I did this on a rolling board so we talked about it and recorded data in PE then put it on display by the auditorium for a concert so parents and students could see it.

This is a post Walk & Bike to School Day board. I printed a map on big paper of the area that surrounds the school. I had the students put a pin from there street if they walked or biked. (Be careful the pins go in far enough so they don't fall out.) I decorated the board with traffic signs and safety questions that we went over pre Walk and Bike to School Day. The data that we collected was recored and sent to our Safe Routes to School Committee to better plan the next Walk and Bike event.
