PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Superhero Health

Category: Health

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Pictures of healthy and unhealthy habits

Our school theme this year is "I teach...what is your super power?" The board was designed to inform students of Hero's Healthy Habits and Villain's Vicious Vices (bad habits). The healthy habit side tells students to exercise for 60 minutes a day, eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables, walk 10,000 steps a day, drink 5 cups of milk a day, eat 6 oz. of grains a day, wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, and brush your teeth twice a day. I included a picture to show students each healthy habit. The villain side informs the students of the effects of drinking to much sugary drinks, lack of physical activity, watching to much TV, and rise in childhood obesity.
