Title of Bulletin Board: The Mind Body Relationship

Category: Girls and Women in Sports

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12

Materials: Pictures of successful women and their story

The Bulletin Board “Mind Body Relationship” is to inform students that a great deal of successful women participated in sports. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and visa versa. Below are the women that were posted on the board. There was a picture of them now, one with them participating in their sport and a short blurb on them. I have listed 4 examples of the information that was posted on the board for all 10 women.

She said, “There’s something about the heightened level of pressure from being in a team environment that I didn’t get in a classroom”

Lynn Elsenhans
She was a member of Rice University’s first collegiate basketball squad
CEO of Sunoco and the director of International Paper
Athletics gave her focus and determination
