Title of Bulletin Board: Milk It Does A Body Good

Category: Nutrition

Suggested Grade Level: k-12

Materials: pictures of milk containers, pictures of teachers/staff, border, construction paper, ellison machine for letters

I like to put up a board related to nutrition in our school's cafeteria. This board promotes drinking milk. I took pictures of teachers/staff at my school. I gave them milk mustaches. The students love seeing their teachers with the mustaches!! I googled facts about milk and included on the board. I also found pictures of milk to add to the border (white, chocolate and strawberry milk).

To give the teachers "milk mustaches" I laminated the photos and used white out. The milk facts are:

1. Milk contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 helps you create energy and keeps your nerve and red blood cells in good order.
2. Milk is a source of calcium. Calcium is essential in tooth and bone growth and maintenance.
3. Milk contains iodine and iodine is essential for maintaining a healthy metabolism and rate of body growth.
4. Milk is a source of protein. Without the proteins needed for muscle maintenance and growth your body cannot function correctly.
