PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Winter Olympics

Category: Olympics

Suggested Grade Level: k-5

Materials: background paper, silver snowflakes (Christmas tree decorations), coloring pages of each Olympic event, informational sheets about athletes, Cut-out letters, Olympic rings cut-outs, map, flags

The purpose of the board was to generate excitement for the upcoming Winter Olympics. I had each classroom in the building color a page used as part of the display (border). The board provides information about what the events are, who some of the athletes are and where Sochi is in Russia. The kids LOVE it and it inspires many conversations while waiting in line to come to PE and lunch. It was also up during parent/teacher conferences and I received many compliments and comments about it.
