PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: GET OFF THE COUCH

Category: Motivation

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Camera, construction paper, colored copy paper, white copy paper

I took photos of 4 different varieties of potatoes (for diversity), and I mounted each photo on a colorful piece of construction paper. For each potato character, I made eyes using the computer, and then made clip art sports equipment. A marker was used to make arms, legs and mouths. Letters were made on the computer and cut out.

I didn't want to show couch potatoes on the couch, so I showed them doing active things. Examples of activities are doing a handstand, jumping rope, juggling with clubs, walking with snowshoes, catching a frisbee, throwing a football, dancing, getting ready to get onto a bicycle, etc.
