PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Olympic Pride

Category: Olympics

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: medals, flame, printouts

This board incorporates the Olympic creed and motto for my PE classes throughout the year, in that students continually strive for "OUR OWN Personal Best" in all that we do. This board also describes the Olympic values of "Friendship", "Excellence", and "Respect" into what we accomplish in our daily PE classes. Students are taught to know what the flag rings and colors represent and the journey the Olympic flame has made. Pictures of all the various winter Olympic events help focus on ways we can stay active in the wintertime. Our theme, "GO FOR YOUR GOLD", emphasizes that everybody's GOLD is different, and that they need to find what interests them and GO FOR YOUR GOLD!

Surrounding the main words "GO FOR YOUR GOLD", the route of the Olympic torch (along with a torch), the Olympic creed, the Olympic motto and the Olympic values with a description of each. There is also a detailed schedule of the Olympic events so the students can follow along. At the bottom the Olympic flag, and the surrounding border includes clip art of each of the winter Olympic events. Each day class time will focus on a particular aspect posted on the board.
