PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Don't Let Relationships Weigh You Down!

Category: Working Together

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: poster board paper, letters, cut out people, magic marker, staples, scissors, & glue.

My "Don't let relationships weigh you down" bulletin board is supposed to show kids/young adults that it is important to choose positive qualities in a relationship. This board demonstrates how healthy relationships are uplifting and unhealthy relationship characteristics can bring someone down. The scale symbolizes how the pros and cons weigh out in a relationship. This can apply to all kinds of relationships. The words I chose for each side of the scale are ones that are powerful and common. The positive characteristics are: respect, communication, equality, support, trust, and safety. The negative ones are: violence, pressure, lies, abuse, jealousy, & fear. It is so important to understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. I added the colorful cutout people to give relationships and friendly effect.
