PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Aerobic Activity

Category: Fitness

Suggested Grade Level: 3-8

Materials: Letters, bulletin board paper, staples, yellow stars for sample activities, pictures of physical activities

The board was designed to help students understand that participating in aerobic activity makes you breathe harder and makes your heart beat faster.
It further states that that the intensity( how hard) of the aerobic activity is either:
Moderate Intensity- description, you can talk while you do it but you cannot sing.
Vigorous Intensity- description, you can only say a few words without stopping to catch your breath.

Under each category, there are pictures of and/or labeled stars of the activities corresponding to the intensity- moderate or vigorous.

As students participate in physical activity in class, they are asked to refer to the bulletin board and decide whether the activity they just performed was aerobic? If so, was the activity moderate or vigorous?

Definitely works hand in hand with the Common Core.
