PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Skeleton in the Closet

Category: About the Body

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Paper (laminated), marker, poster board, cardboard,

I created this board to go along with my skeletal system lesson. It will help students learn the placement of the bones. The activity is the same concept as hangman. Students play with a partner. One partner will be the writer, and the other will be the player. The writer will think of a four letter word then write it under the answer key flap. The player will then try to guess the word one letter at a time. If the letter is wrong the writer will take a bone from the closet and put it on the skeleton. If the letter is correct the writer will write the letter in its blank in the word. If the players skeleton gets put together before they guess the word the game is over. If they guess the word before their skeleton is put together they win. When the game is finished the players will erase the game board, and switch places.
