PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Too Much Pressure

Category: Wellness

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12

Materials: Bulletin Board

This bulletin board is intended to introduce stress management techniques to students in the seventh grade. It provides tips to reduce and prevent stress like time management, exercise, eating nutritious, getting adequate sleep, effective communication, meditation, and seeking help from therapists/counselors.

Ways to not reduce stress are included also like spending money that does not exist, overeating, resorting to alcohol and drugs, procrastinating, and blaming others.

A variety of skills and tips are provided because it is important that students figure out what works best for themselves. Students need to know what triggers stress in their lives and need to know how to practice techniques to prevent these triggers. Stress can have harmful effects like fatigue, muscle tension, unhealthy habits, headaches, poor sleep, and lack of productivity that students must be aware of to motivate them to learn more about how to prevent stress.
