PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Skeletal System

Category: About the Body

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Plastic or paper skeleton, printed x-rays, butcher paper

I wanted to do an informational and fun Halloween bulletin board for outside of the nurse's office. I used black butcher paper for the background and hung a plastic skeleton (from the dollar store) in the center. The words, "Skeletal System" are at the top of the board. I labeled each of the major bones with a silver Sharpie on the black paper (cranium, mandible, humerus, clavicle, ulna, radius, phalanges, vertabrae, ribs, pelvis, femur, tibia, fibula, calcaneus). I also printed out x-rays from an internet search and posted them along the sides of the skeleton. There is also another printout that explains the structure of a bone. I hung a strand of dollar tree skeletons along the bottom of the bulletin board just for fun.
