PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Playlist To Stay healthy This year

Category: Beginning of School

Suggested Grade Level: k-5

Materials: Bulletin board paper, neon poster board, card stock, construction paper, paper plates, yarn and pom poms

This board is directly outside of the gym and was put up at the beginning of school. I feel it could be used any time of the school year. I have the bulletin board the entire school year, every year, so next year I might say "PLAYLIST TO STAY HEALTHY OVER THE HOLIDAYS."

To get the students attention I chose something they are very familiar with and made it bright and colorful. I made 6 different ipods out of neon colored posterboard. The screen was a slightly differnt color to show the contrast. I cut out the middle of a paper plate and glued black construction paper behind to make the dials. The ear buds, attached to the top of the ipods, are made out of yarn with a pom pom stuck to the end.

The purpose of this board was to get the students thinking of themselves and what they could do to stay healthy during the school year. I constantly talk about these things during the school year and this way they could see it visually too.
